On June 2nd, 2025, ShiRP and the Institute for Ocean Conservation Science visited The Explorers Club for its annual World Ocean Week and officially returned Flag #132, which accompanied us on an autonomous eDNA expedition in Shinnecock Bay in September 2024.

IOCS and ShiRP's Dr. Ellen Pikitch along with Sunshine Gumbs of the Shinnecock Nation were speakers at Monday's "Big Ideas" session that featured Mission Blue Hope Spots and highlighted our recent expedition work in the Shinnecock Bay Hope Spot, in Long Island, New York.
