Our ShiRP team was honored to be on hand as the Shinnecock Bay Hope Spot was recognized by the Suffolk County Legislature during its meeting on March 10, 2026. Legislator Ann Welker presented us with an official Proclamation that celebrates the Shinnecock Bay Hope Spot. Shinnecock Bay eDNA Expedition recognized during World Oceans Week 2025 at The Explorers Club in New York City

The ShiRP fisheries team completed a successful expedition in September 2024 pioneering new eDNA sampling technology
September 2024 was an exciting month of fieldwork! Rolex's Perpetual Planet program visits the Shinnecock Bay Hope Spot
In June 2024, our ShiRP team had the opportunity to host Rolex’s Perpetual Planet Initiative, Dr. Sylvia Earle, and members of Mission Blue at the Stony Brook Marine Station for a daylong visit.
